What is a 2D/3D/4D/ Ultrasound?Oh My Baby! Ultrasound offers various ultrasound methods for capturing images of your baby. It is important to understand the different techniques available: -2D ultrasound is a traditional imaging technique that uses black and white images to display the skeletal outline of the baby. It is commonly used for gender determination and real-time visualization of the baby's movements. -3D ultrasound provides a more detailed image that shows the surface tissue of the baby, resembling a real picture. It allows for a clearer view of the roundness of the baby's face, the shape of the nose, and the contours of the lips, among other features. -4D ultrasound takes the 3D images and presents them as a live-motion video, allowing you to see the baby's movements in real-time. -HD ultrasound, on the other hand, offers high-definition 3D images with extraordinary details. This advanced technology creates well-defined and realistic images of the baby's anatomy. Each ultrasound method has its unique features and benefits, and the choice of which one to schedule depends on your preferences and the specific information you wish to obtain during the ultrasound session.
-
Is ultrasound safe?Ultrasound technology operates by emitting soundwaves into the body, which then bounce back when they encounter bone or tissue, creating detailed images. Unlike other imaging methods, such as X-rays, ultrasound does not utilize radiation. At OMB, we prioritize safety and adhere to the guidelines set forth by the AIUM (American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine). By having certified technicians perform ultrasounds, OMB aims to provide quality and reliable imaging services to their clients. These technicians are knowledgeable in the proper use of ultrasound equipment, ensuring that procedures are conducted accurately and safely.
-
Do you accept Insurance? We do not accept insurance at the moment. However, we do accept HSA/FSA.
-
Do you offer Diagnostic Ultrasounds?Yes, OMB provides diagnostic ultrasounds that are interpreted by radiologists. Our sonographer has over 11 years of experience as a maternal fetal medicine sonographer, ensuring expert knowledge and care. OMB offers a range of diagnostic services, including anatomy scans, fetal echocardiograms, biophysical profiles, first trimester/viability scans, growth scans, cervical lengths, and more.
-
How can I prepare? To ensure the best experience during your appointment, we kindly recommend that you stay hydrated by drinking a gallon of water a daily and have a light snack prior to your visit.
-
Will I always get a beautiful picture of my baby?In most cases, we recommend standing up and moving around may also be necessary to stimulate the baby's activity. Occasionally, we may have the mom roll on her side or engage in gentle movements to encourage the baby to move during the ultrasound session. By following the hydration guidelines mentioned earlier and drinking some juice, we can create an environment that enhances the chances of capturing great pictures. However, it's important to note that every baby is unique and may have their preferred positions that are not always ideal for imaging purposes. While we cannot guarantee perfect images, we assure you that our dedicated team will make every effort to obtain the best possible images during the session. Your satisfaction and the quality of the experience are our top priorities.
-
When is the best time for 3D/4D images? While we cannot guarantee image quality, at OMB, we recommend scheduling your 3D/4D ultrasound session between 27 and 32 weeks gestation for the best possible results. This timeframe often provides optimal conditions for capturing clear and detailed images of your baby. However, every pregnancy is unique, and factors such as the position of the baby and the amount of amniotic fluid can influence image quality. Our experienced team will make every effort to obtain the best images possible during your chosen timeframe.
-
When can you determine the gender of the baby? With the Sneak Peak blood test we can determine sex of baby by 8 weeks. With ultrasound, we can see gender at or after 15 weeks gestation.
-
What are my payment options? We accept cash, Venmo, and Zelle, and Cashapp. We also are now accepting HSA/FSA. We do not accept personal checks.
-
What is an 8K Image?8K image technology provides a higher quality image due to its enhanced resolution capabilities, which is about four times higher than 3D/4D ultrasound images, giving you the clearest image of your baby’s features. With this post processing enhancement, you can see true details with unbelievable resolution! The turn around time for receiving your 8k image is 5-7 days.
You will be REQUIRED to sign a release of liability waiver acknowledging your understanding of and agreement to our policies before your ultrasound.
